I’ve been here so often and so regularly that by this point it’s actually remiss of me not to state for posterity just how much I adore this place. I have a permanent weak spot for the super soft and pillowy and delicious scones, which are served with lashings and lashings of sinfully delicious clotted cream and yummy strawberry jam. I’ve also tried the apple rhubarb crumble and was absolutely amazed by the absolute mountain of vanilla ice cream that came with it. It was literally the size of my fist, lol! When it comes to mains, you absolutely cannot go wrong with the lamb tagine, which is so so so SO flavorful and packed with tender meat pieces that practically melt in your mouth that goes so well with the fluffy rice pilaf that’s served with it, that you won’t even notice how full you are until you’ve practically inhaled all of it. The ONLY drawback to this heavenly dish is that it’s not on the fixed menu — it’s part of the mains menu that’s rotated out every 2 days, so you’ll get different options on any given day, which keeps things interesting. But if you’re a semi-picky eater like me and can chow down on the same fave dish every day, it can be a minor torture, lol! I’ve also had the different iterations of chicken chops (there’s almost always a chicken dish of the day) and all of them have been generous cuts and juicy and well executed. There was one version that came with a GORGEOUS tomato based sauce (whose name slips my mind right now) but it was an absolute winner of a chicken dinner — well okay lunch, since Harper Comfort Food is only open until 5 daily (except Tuesdays). I also love the coffees here, which comes in a giant cup. Recently discovered that they’re currently running a 25% off the total bill for anyone who works at the Plaza Damas area, which is icing on the cake. The only other teeny tiny drawback to this place is that it is so cosy that the indoor seating area is on the limited side. Basically there are 4 tables that seat 3 each and 1 bigger table that seats about 4, but there are also tables in the outdoor but covered kind of patio section. It’s shaded enough that it can handle anything short of a major thunderstorm, so not to worry. It’s also a little off the beaten path so it doesn’t seem to get that much foot traffic, which is a shame, because this cute little cafe has something for everyone. The price point is mid-range, but reasonable I feel for the quality of the fare — you can really taste the freshness in the ingredients and the taste and the texture and the generous portions. I haven’t even mentioned the lovely and warm owners Alicia and Alison, who always go out of their way to accommodate customers to the best of their abilities. I mean, I personally feel so welcome that it’s become like my favorite lunch time haunt, lol! TL;DR: Whether you’re looking for sinfully tempting desserts, or hearty, filling yet truly tasty mains, or a bracing caffeine hit for that afternoon slump, Harper Comfort Food has it all. Fun fact: I actually remember when this outlet was Haute Food cafe, before it become Tray cafe, before it became Harper Comfort Food, but I somehow missed the years when it existed as Tray. If you miss Tray, you’ll be happy to know that 2 of the previous owners now run Harper :)

I have eaten at Harper Comfort Food on 4 separate occasions in the past few weeks, both alone and with friends. The staff are friendly and attentive. The menu is simple, and there is a daily special Blackboard. The Granola Bowl is a really nice breakfast. I've had a Ceasar Salad and also their Vegan Hot Pot for lunch. Both were inak sekali. The cafe Latte is really nice.

Delicious food and cakes. The lychee and coconut cake was so fluffy and light. The lemon bar was tangy and just right for us. The creamy pasta and aglio olio was good. Chicken chop with potatoes were nice too. The owner was very welcoming, making sure we were comfortable. There was not too many people at the time, so we had mutliple fans pointing at us while we were seated outside. The staff was also prompt with good service. All around a great place to hang out and have good food.

Good cakes and yummy sandwiches here. We came in a big group and they have settled us down and we were able to share one table. As with most Malaysians, we ordered to share, and they helped cut everything into smaller portions at our request.

This is a neat little cafe nestled among other cute eateries. Cosy seating inside and out too. Service was quick and friendly. The variety of food was not too overwhelming, making easier to choose a dish rather quickly We tried the NZ rib eye, slow roasted lamb tagu, spaghetti bolognese and linguine with beef, bacon and mushrooms. All really tasty and hit the spot! After that it was time for some cake, tea and coffee. The lemon and pistachio cake was a delight, bursting with lemony goodness. We will be back, if it is crowded inside then we will just hang outside. It's pleasant either way.

Nice little friendly cozy neighbourhood setup It has all the right comfort food. The owner was friendly, Made suggestions for us indecisive heads... Ended up with a chicken sandwich. Sweet potato fries was nice, I will repeat this order again. Their coffee was in a transparent glass cup, different than other cafes. The naked vanilla pound cake, was nice n moist. This was their own baked cake.

Really nice place tucked away between two rows of shops. Had the roast beef sandwich and the aglio olio. Pasta definitely was the winner. Usually not a great fan of that pasta but I’m convinced ! I found the sandwich a little dry for my liking but this means the bread wasn’t soggy. Had their coffee, a carrot cake and scones for dessert. I’ll definitely go back to try more. I fancied the scones alot. Coffee was nice and strong as well. I do find it a bit on pricier side but for the food, I’ll be back !
